ADO from Playa del Carmen

Make your way to the ADO bus station conveniently located on the Fifth Avenue, in front of the dock’s chapel. You can easily spot it across from the Parque los Fundadores.

The ADO bus offers a comfortable and affordable option to reach Tulum from Playa Del Carmen. With a one-way fare of just 120 pesos, it’s an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Colectivo from Playa del Carmen

Colectivos run frequently between these two destinations for 50 pesos if you decide to go to Tulum. Look for them near Chedraui centro in Av Juárez and you will find the colectivo station. With fares as low as 50 pesos, they offer a budget-friendly way to reach Tulum in approximately one hour. Unfortunately, accidents involving toppled colectivos have occurred in the past. Exercise caution and choose reputable operators to minimize risks during your journey.

Renting a Car from Playa del Carmen/ Private Driver Service

For a personalized and flexible travel experience, consider booking a private driver service. This provides the freedom to explore Tulum at your own pace, with the added convenience of door-to-door service.

Or you could consider renting a car in Playa del Carmen. We usually use Hertz ourselves since is a reliable and pretty affordable company. They also have an office in Tulum. You can bring back the car there for an extra fee.
