Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a marina in Tulum?
There is no marina in Tulum. The closest place near Tulum where you can embark on a yacht or catamaran is Puerto Aventuras, which is 40 minutes from Tulum.
What type of boat should you choose?
The maximum capacity listed per boat gives a fair indication of how many people comfortably fit. Yachts are faster, so you spend more time at the stops and less time cruising. Catamarans are wider and more stable, with more deck space – better for lounging. Both include the same food, drinks, and crew.
How far in advance should you book a boat?
For the best selection and availability, especially during peak seasons, booking at least two months in advance is recommended. However, we also try to accommodate last-minute requests.
What amenities are typically included when you book a boat?
Amenities on our boats include decks for sunbathing and lounging, indoor cabins with air conditioning, bathrooms, kitchen facilities, entertainment systems and water sports equipment such as snorkeling gear.
Are food and beverages provided on the boat?
What safety measures are in place for yacht rentals?
The companies we work with adhere to strict safety regulations and standards to ensure the well-being of your group. This includes regular maintenance of yachts, safety briefings before departure, life jackets and safety equipment onboard, and experienced crew trained in emergency procedures.
What are you recommended to bring?
We recommend you bring swimwear, sunglasses, and eco-friendly sunscreen.
How can you pay for the boat?
You can pay the deposit with an online payment link. The remainder can be paid when you arrive at the boat with cash or card (5% surcharge).
How can you pay the marina fee?
The marina fee (20 USD per person) must be paid with cash.
Can you have a DJ on board?
Some boats of the luxury cruises have the option to have a DJ on board. It is specified at the overview of boats on the luxury cruise page.
Can the boat be decorated?
With the luxury cruises you can include birthday or bachelorette decorations.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is possible at a cost of 10% of the cruise with more than 14 days notice. With less than 14 days notice cancellation is not possible.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Caribbean weather can shift quickly, but most days are ideal for sailing. If conditions are unsafe, the captain will cancel the departure
and you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule. If the weather is not ideal then the cruise will still go on.
