Gitano Jungle has been open since 2013 — one of Tulum’s originals, and still one of its best. Open-air jungle setting with colonial-inspired architecture, a giant disco ball, and the pink neon sign that’s become something of a Tulum landmark. Modern Mexican menu cooked on an open fire and wood grill, designed for sharing, with 50+ mezcals and signature cocktails at the bar.

The restaurant is relaxed early in the evening and picks up energy as the night goes on. Friday is Gypsy Disco — dinner turns into dancing with cabaret performances and DJs.
