What the Prices Mean

Every party here carries one of four price lines. “Tickets from” is the cheapest way in that night, and a day party’s “From … per person” is its cheapest seat. “Minimum … per person” is the entrance plus the minimum spend on food and drinks. “Pay for what you order” means there is no ticket at all.

Party What you pay for
Beach club parties What you pay depends on the seating area you choose, and a seating area comes with credit to spend on food and drinks. Some beach clubs add a service charge of up to 18%, the same as when you book direct.
Cenote club parties You pay an entry fee, and food and drinks are bought separately. At Vesica a minimum spend on food and drinks comes on top of the entry fee.
Dinner Experiences Entry is free and the show is included, so you pay for your dinner and drinks. A larger group leaves a deposit, which is yours to spend at the table.
Party What you pay for
Nightlife tickets Tickets are sold online, and drinks are bought separately. The price usually goes up as the night gets closer.
Nightlife tables A private table includes entry and credit to spend on drinks and bottles. Some clubs add a service charge of up to 20%, the same as when you book direct.

Good to Know

  • Best nights: Friday and Saturday carry the most events and the highest energy. Thursday and Sunday are lively too.
  • Reservations: Worth making for a group of 5 or more, and for Thursday to Sunday. Venues usually take walk-ins, but a reservation holds your place, keeps your group together, and booking ahead can cost less.
  • Dress code: Stylish swimwear and beachwear for beach clubs, and swimwear for cenote parties. Smart casual for dinner shows. Fashionable for night clubs, with no flip-flops or athletic wear.
  • Getting there: Most venues are in the Hotel Zone, 20 to 25 minutes from town, or on jungle roads. For 3 people or fewer a taxi works well. For a larger group we book a private driver, and when we make the reservation the group gets a discount on the round trip.
  • Age: Most nightlife is 18 and over, and most beach clubs 15 and over. Restaurants and cenote clubs generally welcome all ages, and each event page says more.
  • Dinner shows: A card that reads “Pay for what you order” means the show comes with the table, not on its own. Arrive before 10 PM and you are expected to dine: think of it as a dinner reservation with live entertainment.
