Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should you book the Snorkeling & Cenote Tour?
What makes this different from the Cenote Adventure Tour?
The Cenote Adventure Tour is three cenotes — all underground/freshwater, including a cave system. This tour combines ocean reef snorkeling (sea turtles, coral, tropical fish) with one private cenote. Pick this one if you want both ocean and freshwater in one morning. Pick the Cenote Adventure if you want to go all-in on the underground cenote experience.
Will you see sea turtles?
Sea turtles are commonly seen on the reef – they’re one of the main attractions. Sightings are never 100% guaranteed (they’re wild animals), but your guide knows the best spots and most groups see at least one.
Do you need snorkeling experience?
No. Your guide provides all gear, a safety briefing, and stays with you in the water. Life jackets are available. The reef is shallow enough to see everything from the surface – you don’t need to dive down.
Do you need to be a strong swimmer?
You should be comfortable in the water. Life jackets are provided for the reef, and the cenote is calm with no currents. You’ll be in the water for much of the tour, so basic swimming comfort is necessary.
What should you bring?
Swimwear (worn under your clothes), a towel, a change of dry clothes, water shoes (recommended), biodegradable sunscreen, a waterproof camera if you have one, and some cash. All snorkeling gear and life jackets are provided.
Are the tours private or shared?
Both options are available. Private tours are fully customizable – adjust the itinerary, pace, and stops. Small-group tours follow a set route with other guests.
Are you picked up at your accommodation?
Yes. Every tour includes roundtrip air-conditioned transportation from your accommodation in Tulum and back.
Do the guides speak English?
Yes, all guides are fluent in English and Spanish.
Are entry fees included?
Yes – all entry fees, park admissions, and required permits are included in the price.
What's included in the lunch?
A picnic-style lunch between cenotes – sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and drinks. Let us know about dietary restrictions when you book.
How can you pay?
Full payment via online payment link before the tour. Prefer to pay in Mexican pesos? Just let us know.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age is 6 years. Children must be comfortable in open water for the reef snorkeling portion.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the start of the tour. No questions asked.
