    Pickup from your accommodation.

  2. Coba

One of the largest ancient Mayan cities ever excavated, home to Nohoch Mul: a 42-meter pyramid you can climb again, taller than anything at Chichen Itza or Tulum. You’ll bike along shaded jungle paths between temple clusters, ball courts, and stelae. Your guide walks you through the history and significance of each structure along the way.

  3. Lunch

A homemade meal in the house of a local Mayan family. Traditional Yucatecan dishes prepared fresh, an experience you won’t find at any restaurant.

  4. Punta Laguna

A protected jungle reserve home to spider monkeys and howler monkeys, one of the best places in the Yucatan to see them in the wild. Walk the forest trails with a local guide, then paddle a canoe across the lagoon and zipline over the water. The reserve is run by a local Mayan community.

  5. Cenote

Cool off in a family-owned cenote: crystal-clear freshwater, beautifully maintained, and a perfect way to end a day in the jungle.

  6. 5 to 6 PM

I had a great time on my tour. The guide, Iber, was very knowledgeable, kind and fun. The lunch with the Mayan family was absolutely delicious. We were served endless amounts of freshly prepared tortillas, some of the best I've ever had. The entire meal was mouth wateringly delicious. Loved the zipline over the water and swimming in the cenote. I will definitely use this company again in the future and visit some of the other cenotes.

Booked YTC for two days - Bacalar Trip on day one and Chichén Itzá/Cenotes for Day 2. They were very responsive and allowed for customization of the itinerary which was the major reason I picked them. Our driver Gabriel was great and got us to the location safely. We requested for him on Day 2 and were pleased YTC accommodated us. Gabriel showed up on time, was professional and respectful. Communication was quick and easy via what’s app. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book the Coba Ruins Tour?

We recommend booking your tours at least one week in advance. However, we can sometimes accommodate last-minute bookings.

How does Coba compare to Chichen Itza?

Chichen Itza is bigger, more famous, and more restored: it’s the bucket-list site. Coba is wilder, less crowded, and more adventurous: much of it is still buried in jungle, and you bike between structures instead of walking a manicured path. Chichen Itza is about the spectacle; Coba is about the experience. Many guests do both on separate days.

Do I need to be fit for this tour?

You should be comfortable cycling on flat jungle paths and walking on uneven terrain. The zipline and canoe require no special fitness and are not mandatory. If you can’t or don’t want to bike, bicycle taxis are available at Coba for no extra cost.

What should I bring?

Comfortable closed-toe shoes (no sandals: you’ll be cycling and walking on jungle paths), athletic clothing, swimwear and a towel, biodegradable sunscreen, insect repellent, a camera, and cash for souvenirs and tips.

Are the tours private or shared?

Both options are available. Private tours are fully customizable: adjust the itinerary, pace, and stops. Small-group tours follow a set route with other guests.

Am I picked up at my accommodation?

Yes. Every tour includes round-trip air-conditioned transportation from your accommodation in Tulum and back.

Do the guides speak English?

Yes, all guides are fluent in English and Spanish.

Are entry fees included?

Yes, all entry fees, park admissions, and required permits are included in the price.

What is included in the lunch?

A homemade Mayan meal prepared by a local family in their home. Expect traditional dishes like handmade tortillas, pollo pibil, beans, rice, and fresh salsa. Let us know about dietary restrictions when you book.

How do I pay?

The full amount is paid with an online payment link before the tour. Prefer to pay in Mexican pesos? Just let us know.

What is the minimum age?

There is no minimum age. Kids love the bike ride, the monkeys, the zipline, and the cenote swim. Younger children can ride in a bicycle taxi at Coba.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the start of the tour. No questions asked.
