Upcoming Nights

The Night

Gitano Jungle has a dance floor between the trees. Friday is its night: resident DJs spinning deep house and disco edits and a crowd that knows why it came.

The kitchen stays open late: modern Mexican, wood-fired plates, mezcal cocktails poured heavy. But make no mistake: this is a party that happens to serve dinner, not the other way around.

The crew at Gitano curated a beautiful space that is both relaxed and classy. We tried the chef’s tasting menu #2 and it was divine. Rojo was our sever and he was very attentive and friendly, explaining every dish with care and flair. A first class experience all around!

I absolutely love this place. Every time I come to Tulum I come back to see my favorite bartenders Enrique and Omar!! They make my experience the best ever. The DJ is so good. The vibes are good. Ask for a passion fruit margarita Enrique really knows how to make it perfect!!! It’s the only place in the hotel zone you should go to genuinely. They made my anniversary so special . Thank you Enrique and Omar!! The best company

Tasty, beautiful, and convenient. This open-air restaurant gets great natural light early on and transitions into a loungey club later in the evening. Near the bathrooms, you might get offered drugs. For drinks, I kept it simple with a cold, crisp Victoria beer which was perfect for the heat. The food was really good with a mix of tapas and larger plates: Ceviche Gitano – fresh, bright, and addictive for the whole family Guac – gone in seconds, kids and adults were feral Chorizo con Queso – rich, melty goodness Birria/barbacoa – deep flavors and satisfying Seafood Croquettes – a big win, especially with the kids NOTES/TIPS: **Walkable from La Zebra and other hotels **Wear pants if you're sensitive to bug bites. **Service was great. They were attentive, friendly, and didn’t hover.

Gitano is a well known hotel and beach club brand, and this was my first time visiting their Tulum location. We went in the evening for drinks, and the space itself is very large and visually impressive. It feels like it keeps going, with multiple areas and sections, and there’s entertainment throughout the venue. We went on a Friday night, which we were told is one of their most popular nights and has a disco style setup. The DJ was excellent, and if you’re looking for a night out dancing by the beach, this is a fun option. That said, it is extremely expensive. I’ve never paid that much for drinks in my life. One margarita and a water came out to around 50 Canadian dollars, which felt very overpriced. We didn’t pay an entrance fee, but you do need to be on the guest list. We were approached by promoters earlier in the day who added us, which made entry easy. The crowd is mostly tourists, with a lot of bachelor and bachelorette parties, so it definitely has a party focused vibe. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is a good place to go. Just be prepared for very high prices.

What an incredible evening this was! Our server Samuel was kind, knowledgeable, and didn’t rush the evening. And the food-wow!! Dining literally in the jungle was its own experience-we even had a monkey cross our path! Highly recommend.
