Conveniently located along the main highway, it’s easily accessible by car, bike, or taxi and is often the go-to for stocking up on essentials.
  • Súper Akí: A more budget-friendly supermarket, Súper Akí offers a good range of basic groceries and pantry items. Although it has a smaller selection compared to Chedraui, it’s a reliable option for quick trips and weekly staples.
  • Mi Bodega Aurrera: It is a Mexican discount store owned by Walmart de México y Centroamérica, known for its budget-friendly prices, even more affordable than Super Aki. You’ll notice that it’s mostly locals who shop here, with very few tourists or expats. The store has an informal vibe, often with unpacked boxes lining the aisles, highlighting its focus on affordability over aesthetics.
  • Soriana: A solid mid-range option that offers everything from fresh produce to clothing and electronics. While it provides a good shopping experience, Soriana is located a bit further from the town center, so it may be less convenient if you’re staying in central Tulum. Still, it’s a good alternative for those who don’t mind the drive.

Tulum Liquor Stores

  • Tequila Shops on Main Road in Tulum Pueblo: There are several shops in downtown Tulum that are primarily aimed at tourists, selling tequila and a range of other liquors. These shops offer convenience but keep in mind that prices here are often marked up significantly compared to other local options.
  • La Europea: Located inside Go Mart, La Europea is a popular destination for liquor lovers in Tulum. They offer a wide range of premium wines, spirits, and liqueurs from around the world. Stores are only allowed to sell alcohol in Tulum from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Monday to Friday. On Sundays it is only allowed until 5:00 PM.
