The Big Decision: Beach or Town?

The Hotel Zone, the famous beach strip, puts you steps from the sand, the beach clubs, and the nightlife, but it is the priciest area and getting to and from town takes time and money. The town side, including Downtown, Aldea Zama, and La Veleta, is far better value, with great restaurants and an easy base for exploring, though you will travel to reach the beach.

When to Book
Tulum gets busy. For high season, roughly December through April, and around the holidays, book your stay well ahead, since the best places and best value go first. In the low season you will find softer prices and more availability, especially on apartments and villas.
