Where to park in Tulum: the official parking lot of Jaguar Park

Tulum Parking Fees

  • Public Beach / Tulum Ruins / Jaguar Park: Prepare to part with around 20 USD (415 pesos) for the privilege of parking here. This includes access to the Tulum Ruins. We’re referring here to the official parking area for Tulum Ruins (which is now part of what they call the ‘Jaguar Park’), you can also reach the public beach from here, but it’s still a few minutes walking. You can also park closer to the beach, but you will have to pay a separate parking fee of around 10 USD (200 pesos).
  • Tulum Hotel Zone Beach: If you’re headed to the hotel zone, expect to pay between 10 and 20 USD (200 to 300 pesos). Private lots with attendants are common in this area, often accepting cash only. Scooter parking is also available there for about 5 USD (100 pesos).
  • Downtown Tulum, Aldea Zama and La Veleta: Parking here is free.

Where to Park at Playa Paraíso itself

The most famous part of the public beach is called Playa Paraíso. To get there you go down Avenida Coba and take a left at the roundabout at the end of the road. Here you will find a small booth where you have to pay entry (around 20 USD) to this area which includes both the public beach and Tulum Ruins. Then drive a few hundred meters and you’ll see the sign to Playa Paraíso on your right. There is a small (private) parking lot there. Expect to pay around 10 USD (200 pesos) for parking here. As said, you can also park at the Tulum Ruins main parking lot. It’s further from the beach but you can park for ‘free’ there (it’s included in the entry fee for the  Jaguar Park).

Parking in Tulum Hotel Zone

Heading to the heart of the action? Here’s where you can park in the hotel zone for around 200 to 300 pesos:

  • Good Parking (this is the name, not a recommendation): Across the street from Mina Restaurant. Google Maps Link.
  • Casa Shanty parking: Between Botica del Alma and Tulum Ibikes. Google Maps Link.
  • VN Parking: Next to Mulata Tobacco & Lounge. Google Maps Link (the owner actually placed the pointer on the wrong side of the street – the map below shows the correct location).
  • Akiin Parking: Very close to VN Parking. Across the street from Mulata Tobacco & Lounge. Google Maps Link.
  • Parking Zamna: Close to Mr. Blackbird Clothing Boutique. Google Maps Link.

Next to the Punta Piedra beach are the only free parking spots in the Hotel Zone that we know of. That can find it here.

Parking in Downtown Tulum

Parking is free everywhere in downtown Tulum. And usually it is easy to find a parking spot. However, be cautious of the yellow marked pavements, as they indicate no parking zones.

Conclusion

If you want to avoid parking stress in Tulum, especially in the hotel zone, consider alternative options like scooter or e-bike rentals for a faster and more relaxed ride to the beach where you can find more free parking spots around the hotel zone. If you don’t want to pay for parking at all and/or want to get some serious exercise: consider renting a normal bike.
