Welcome to Tulum, where azure waters meet ancient ruins, and vibrant culture intertwines with modern convenience. Navigating parking in our beloved town might seem daunting at first, but fear not, we’re here to provide you with all the insider knowledge you need for a stress-free experience.
Tulum Parking Fees
- Public Beach / Tulum Ruins / Jaguar Park: Prepare to part with around 20 USD (415 pesos) for the privilege of parking here. This includes access to the Tulum Ruins. We’re referring here to the official parking area for Tulum Ruins (which is now part of what they call the ‘Jaguar Park’), you can also reach the public beach from here, but it’s still a few minutes walking. You can also park closer to the beach, but you will have to pay a separate parking fee of around 10 USD (200 pesos).
- Tulum Hotel Zone Beach: If you’re headed to the hotel zone, expect to pay between 10 and 20 USD (200 to 300 pesos). Private lots with attendants are common in this area, often accepting cash only. Scooter parking is also available there for about 5 USD (100 pesos).
- Downtown Tulum, Aldea Zama and La Veleta: Parking here is free.
Where to Park at Playa Paraíso itself
The most famous part of the public beach is called Playa Paraíso. To get there you go down Avenida Coba and take a left at the roundabout at the end of the road. Here you will find a small booth where you have to pay entry (around 20 USD) to this area which includes both the public beach and Tulum Ruins. Then drive a few hundred meters and you’ll see the sign to Playa Paraíso on your right. There is a small (private) parking lot there. Expect to pay around 10 USD (200 pesos) for parking here. As said, you can also park at the Tulum Ruins main parking lot. It’s further from the beach but you can park for ‘free’ there (it’s included in the entry fee for the Jaguar Park).

Parking in Downtown Tulum
Conclusion
If you want to avoid parking stress in Tulum, especially in the hotel zone, consider alternative options like scooter or e-bike rentals for a faster and more relaxed ride to the beach where you can find more free parking spots around the hotel zone. If you don’t want to pay for parking at all and/or want to get some serious exercise: consider renting a normal bike.
